14–19 Strategy

NYLP Strategic Priority

To provide an effective infrastructure to support implementation of the 14-19 Strategy.

In order to implement the North Yorkshire 14-19 Strategy and support recommendations for specific actions in the StAR Review the Richmondshire 14-19 Curriculum Task Group is seeking to:

• Work in partnership with Connexions, Training Providers and Curriculum Managers to identify learner needs, duplication and the resource implications of widening the 14-19 curriculum.
• Engage with Colleges and Training Providers to explore and promote initiatives to increase vocational opportunities for the 14-16 age group.
• Audit existing provision and identify subject areas which through collaboration could be delivered more efficiently.
• Engage with Richmondshire District Council and the private sector to identify future workforce development needs.
• Produce and disseminate a comprehensive prospectus of existing and future 14-19 provision.
